CONSULAR / EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

The Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking applications for full-time candidates:

Job Description

• Consular Assistant/ Receptionist

  • Perform consular and notarial services at the Consulate-General’s reception.

  • Manage queries on the Consulate-General’s main telephone line and email and meet with members of the public.

  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities, as required.

• Executive Assistant/Translator - Interpreter

  • Provide secretarial functions and administrative support for events, official visits etc.

  • Handle the information functions of the Consulate-General, that is, research, translation of media reports/documents and interpretation (Vietnamese/English) during meetings.

  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities, as required.

Requirements

Applicants should have the following qualifications and attributes:

• A recognised university degree;

• Minimum TOEFL iBT 100/120, TOEIC 900/990, IELTS 7.0/9.0 or equivalent;

• Good command of spoken and written English and Vietnamese with proficiency in translating accurately between both languages. Written and verbal tests will be administered;

• Good administrative and organisational skills, including proficiency in using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

• Good communication skills;

• Preferably 1 year of relevant work experience in the following areas:

  • Vietnamese laws and local conditions

  • Liaising with local government agencies

  • Organising visits and events
